Real Estates' Unique Language
|
|
Almost every profession seems to have its' own language, with its' special terms and descriptive words. Real Estate isn't any different. If you've bought or are in the process of buying, I'm sure you know what I mean. Some of these terms are used by the Real Estate Agent, others by the Mortgage Officer or Loan Originator, and still others by a Real Estate Attorney. Some of these terms or words you may be familiar with, others you may not.
For example:The Byrons are about to purchase a Condo, and the Real Estate Agent made mention that the deck was Cantilever, and when they sat down with their Loan Originator, they were told the Mortgage Company would have to do a Spot Loan. Next the Real Estate Attorney asked if they wanted to hold title as Tenancy by the Entirety. These are just three of the many terms used in our profession. For your convenience, you can look up any of the terms you don't understand and shy about asking, in the Real Estate Glossary.
These were just three examples. Remember, this may be one of the largest investments you ever make, so be sure you understand what is being told to you before you make the commitment.
I think you'll find everything real estate related in this glossary, but if you don't,
